'Milk and Honey' : Harvest special service 11am with Hunger Lunch afterwards with some authentic African dishes. Collection will be taken to buy a cow for an African farmer.


August 11th - 12th

On August 11th and 12th between 1.30 and 3pm there will be a portrait painting workshop for young people between the ages of 5 and 15.

This will be led by Martin Beek an artist and member of St Luke's. The portraits will be exhibited on 12th and 13th September (see details below) along with portaits of the church and community by Martin Beek.

The exhibition will be called 'Facets'.

There will be a couple of trips to Youlbury outdoor activity centre on the 18th and 19th August between 2 and 4pm for 11 to 15 year olds (details from Tim sparrowhawk)

Wednesday 11th July

7.30 - 9.30pm Come and see the new St Luke's. A drop-in evening for people to see and talk about plans for the new St Luke's building. Come along at any time.

7.30 - 9.30pm Quiz Night. How much do you know about Oxford? Come and test your knowledge and chat to your neighbours. Refreshments provided.

Easter Discovery Days Wed, Thurs, Fri at 1.30pm- 2.30pm a creative session for parents and children looking at Easter themes, followed by refreshments.Suitable for chilrden aged 0-8. Children under 5 must be accompanied by an adult.

Baby and Toddler group

This group now runs on a Tuesday too, 10.30-12noon. The Health Visitor comes to the group on the first Tuesday of each month.


23rd March

Wellbeing Afternoon, Friday 1-3pm. A perfect way to unwind if you are feeling stressed or just looking for new ways to relax. Come and discover more about ways to manage stress and treat yourself well. The afternoon is being run with workers from MIND. Child care available, please call 01865 251616 to book a place for your child.

Outings:

Drop-in outing to Coventry and Cadbury's World (06/07/2005)

On 6th July members of the Wednesday Drop-In enjoyed a day out exploring the contrasting Christian themes presented at Coventry Cathedral and Cadbury's World. In addition there was an enjoyable Pub Lunch at Hopwood House making an excellent day out - shame about the Birmingham rush hour traffic encountered on the way home!

Fridays Feb - Apr

PEEP sessions are being held at St Luke's Baby and Toddler Group from 10.30 to 11.30 on the following dates: Friday 1st February ; Friday 8th February; Firday 15th February; Friday 22nd February; Friday 29th February; Friday 7th March; Friday 14th March; Friday 28th March; Friday 4th April.

PEEP is about parents and children learning together through a range of play activities, singing and stories. Babies and toddlers welcome!

The sessions will be run by Terry Torchia from Grandpont Children's Centre


18th, 19th and 20th February

Journey to Easter 1.30-2.30pm each day - Easter crafts, cooking and stories suitable for 1-8 year olds, parents & carers. Children under the age of 5 must be accompanied by an adult.

Monday 18th: Jesus & the Donkey Meet a real donkey!

Tuesday 19th: Jesus shares a Meal Try some different foods.

Wednesday 20th: Jesus comes alive! Make an Easter Garden.

Lots more activities on each day too! Free of charge.

Sunday 5th April - Palm Sunday

Joining with St John's Church for a Blessing of Palms service in Hinksey Park, followed by a late breakfast of croissants and coffee at St Luke's from 10.30. At 11am there will be a service at St Luke's for all ages.


Thursday 9th April - Maundy Thursday

7.30pm: Passover Supper at St Luke's. Come and experience an authentic Jewish Passover, led by Revd.Tim and Ann Bradshaw Ring Oxford 251616 to book a place.


Friday 10th April - Good Friday

10am - 3pm 'Journey to the Cross' - a creative drop in event for all ages. A range of activities and crafts to help reflect on the meaning of the Cross.


Saturday 11th April - Holy Saturday

10-12 noon: Drop in for quiet prayer and reflection.


Sunday 12th April - Easter Day

11am Easter Communion followed by lunch and a Grand Egg Hunt. All ages welcome!
